i went to the supermarket today and saw this girl i used to go to high school with. we weren't friends and i don't know her name but i recognized her face. she got fat. like, really fat. like rotund. she was grocery shopping with her mom. it made me a little sad to think about what her and her mom might be thinking. i'm assuming she was single, i could be wrong, but if she was, it must be very difficult for females who don't get married by a certain age. there is such strong societal pressure on females to be married. if a female isn't married by a certain age, there must be something wrong with her. that's what society says. it is such an unspoken rule that even a mother must feel the strain when she has an unmarried daughter. it's a shame. there are a lot of fucked up people who are married. if you see an unmarried dude, you assume he's kind of a loser but not as bad as if it's a female. if you see a female unmarried by a certain age, you think she's some kind of nut. hold fast my sisters, stay strong. if you don't find that unfucked up guy by a certain age, try not to sweat it. it's always better to be happy. you have to be strong enough to take on societal values, and societal values aren't always right. fuck society, it's all about being happy.

4.19.09: The Return.

i was pretty excited about this show until i saw it. i think i watched like five minutes of the first episode and ten minutes of the second. it's a piece of shit. the writing is horrible, the storylines are contrived and that thing they do with the bleeping is pretentious. to top it off, the characters aren't remotely realistic, the cops' hair and make-up looks like they work nights at the nordstroms make-up counters, and the show doesn't seem to have a very good depiction of the southland. it seems to have been written by some mickey mouse pitch writer with a good idea. The Shield is a good show, and much closer to what cops and life is like in the southern California area. yeah, i got all that from a combined fifteen minutes of viewing.
